One of my earlies memories of Lost Creek is hiking into the hollow. My dad and I would walk through the creek as far back as we could. We would hike up the banks and come up around the other side of the creek.

I remember all the wild life we would see. There were fish in the creek. Snakes to avoid and butterflies to watch. The water was pretty clear back then.

Each year we would visit granny and papa. My parents had to drive across the creek to get to the farm. The bridge was almost always washed away.

Across the road was Aunt Serena. She was always very nice to us. She would let us drink fresh, cold water from a rain bucket with a ladel. She also always had a peppermint stick she would break up for us kids.
